My heart is feeling tired

From the inflation and deflation

Of not-deep-enough love

Of broken-promises love

Of don’t-value-my-worth love

Of crash-landing love

It is tired from the hope

That soars in the beginning

Floating on clouds of caring words

Of future visions of togetherness

But veers off course at the first sign of turbulence

Rather than trying to navigate

To what could be a fruitful destination

The pilot instead ejects himself

To set flight on a new unknown journey

But will he simply choose to crash again
